Damien Trainor started his training at the tender age of 14 years old at the famous K-Star Thai Boxing Academy in Birmingham. Under the watchful eye of instructor Steve Logan, he started competing in the junior ranks a year later and quickly became Midland Area, English and British school boy champion.
After moving into the adult division at 16 years old the success he had as school boy followed him through and he won his pro debut by stoppage in the second round. He became the English champion at 17 years old and then, after receiving his red arm band (equivalent to a black belt) in his final grading, he gained a British championship title at 18 years.
