Train with champions through March

Posted by  | Categories: News

Making sure our students get the very best with their training we have a arranged for three champion guest instructors to take some classes throughout March.

First up on Wednesday the 15th of March we have former British champion and an old stable mate of Damien Trainor, Jason Richards. The speed and power of Jason’s kicks made him a fan favourite and very exciting fighter to watch. He’d scored a number of head kick KOs which were televised on the very popular channel 5 program Now is the Time Night of Combat. He stopped fighting at a young age to pursue his teaching career which he’ll be able to use to full effect during his session with you guys/girls.

Next up on Wednesday 22nd March we have our very own World champion Dan Edwards. Dan has been one of the UK’s top fighters in his weight for a number of years now. He’s been fighting extensively in Thailand since 2011 and has been undefeated there for the past 3yrs. He recently won his world just last month in spectacular fashion with a fourth round ko. During this class I’m sure he’ll be going over many of things he has used to make him a success.

Then on Wednesday 29th March you will have the privilege of training again with former British & European champion Gavin Bradley. Gavin and Damien were stable mates for a number of years and he was his regular training partner for many of his fights. He’s very charismatic and a great laugh during class. Gavin had a very successful fight career and will have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to those who can attend.

Only the best happens at K-Star Legacy.

Training Henry Cejudo of the UFC.

K-Star Legacy’s chief instructor Damien Trainor has been asked to help a high profile MMA fighter with their striking.

The current ranked No2 flyweight in the UFC, Henry Cejudo has arranged to fly Damien out to Arizona to help improve his striking as he starts his prep for UFC 211 when he takes on Sergio Pettis in Dallas.

Damien and Henry have worked together before when they were both at world famous CSA gym in Dublin, California late last year.

Damien was at CSA for a month helping train a large number of athletes who all compete in major combat organisations such as the UFC, Glory, Bellator and Lion Fight amongst others.

While there Damien got to work with Henry and a few other guys who featured on last years Ultimate Fighter show, namely Alexandra Pantoja, Adam Antolin, Yoni Sherbatov and Nkazimulo Zulu.

Henry and Damien were both very impressed with each other and have been in talks ever since in regards to them working together again.

This shows what a high standard of instruction we have at K-Star Legacy with our instructors.

While Damien is away he has arranged for three other guest champion instructors to take some of the classes making sure his students still get the very best in tuition.
